HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU WOKE UP AFTER SURGERY

It would have been nice if the truck would have at least honked before it hit me. I had open rny that lasted 8 hours because of all the adhesions and scar tissue I had from all the other surgeries I'd had. When the nurses came to get me up to walk I really had to pray cause I was ready to jump on them for pulling me up like that.  That dilaudid did help though.

I woke up nauseated.   Anesthesia always has that effect on me.  Otherwise it wasn't that bad except for when I had to bend or cough.

I feel like my surgeon did a great job with pain control.  She used a little ball with an implanted catheter that puts medicine directly into the surgical site.

I woke up groggy but was not in pain, was kinda stiff.  Right before surgery i was so scared that I was gonna die on the table and HYPER...they gave me something to calm my nerves.  All I remember is being wheeled into the operating room, being told to lay on this table and they stapped me down...I made a comment about Grey's Anatomy and feeling like I was Jesus about to be crucified (cuz the way they strapped me down) somebody put a mask on my face and I felt cold air.  Woke up to somebody calling my name...I thought it was Jesus and I was dead and that's the first thing that came out my mouth "Am I dead, am I in heaven?" Then I was scrambling to throw the covers back and pulled up my gown to see if the surgery had been done...then I got FREEZING cold and was yelling for somebody to put some warm covers on me.  For the next couple of hours I was in a out of sleep...but feeling fine, barely any pain at all.

about an hour after surgery  I had a full bladder but I couldn't not go  to the bathroom  I stood there trying to go but nothing  came out I thought the doctor had disconnected   me or something  so I was groggy and   stressing. I actually could not get a full stream till about 6 hours later.

I think I have a high tolerance for pain, so for me I never got all of the pain that everyone talks about.  I was just super groggy.  I was alert as far as hearing and comprehending everything but I was just too exhausted to react as quickly as I normally would.

I will have to say that I was not the best patient after my surgery.  I was mean and nasty to the nurses.  I tried to remove my CPAP machine SEVERAL TIMES.  I complained about pain.  My pain wasn't from the incision but from Gas.  I was kinda in and out of lucidity so I remember seeing my mother and best friend but don't remember anything they said.  That's because I was so mean and nasty and wouldn't cooperate that the nurse first threatened to restrain me if I didn't stop, I didn't stop trying to remove that machine so he gave me a shot of something and I was lucid for a few moments then went nighty night.  I didn't wake up till the next morning.  I was in my room and my dr was coming in to check on me and get me to walk.  I guess they said let me put this chick to sleep lol.
I was once a mess!!  My mess is now my message!! WLS saves lives!!  I'm living proof!

I had a little pain mostly nausa when I woke up.  I believe I do have a high tolerance to pain though because I did not need much pain meds. You will do fine though
