I KNOW THIS IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT FOR EVERYBODY, BUT I STILL MUST ASK HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU WOKE UP FROM SURGERY.  I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT IT FEELS LIKE YOU WERE HIT BY A TRUCK.  THEN SOME WILL SAY I FELT GROGGY, SO TELL ME HOW DID YOU FEEL?

It was bad only because the morphine didn't work for the type of pain I was having...they switched me to dilaudid and I was perfect and ready to get up and walking by the time I left recovery and got up to my room

I was still medicated and groggy but I had to get out of bed the same day and walk. Thank GOD my family was there to assist me or I would have fell on my face. I went home the next day and was driving on day three.

When I wole up, I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere.  Then I start to feel a lil stiffness and pain.  Quickly, the nurse intorduce my morphine pump and I was pushing ever min I needed it.  what bother me the most was the tube they put down your throat.  After they took that out everything else was bearable with the morphine pump by my side..

This varies depending on what type of surgery you have and your tolerance for pain.

I had open RNY AND I have a low tolerance for pain. ....needless to say, I felt like shiot!

Plus I found out, after hitting that morphine pump a few times, that I am allergic to morphine!

Not only was I hurting...but also itching all over!  NOT a good feeling!

Oooooooooh baby,I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I woke up in pain, lots of pain. I'm sorry WLS ain't for punks!  You got to be ready.......hell and even then, your still not ready.
Dang, just thinking about waking up after surgery brings back horrible memories. I was moaning and pulling my breathing tubes out . They were trying to get me to be still. I think I cursed out all staff.
I'm sorry I was fool, I'm not good with pain. And this s*** is beyond painful. All I can say is drugs are our friends.
This is just my experience after WLS.

Honestly, I had begun to buy into the fact prior to pre-op that I could possibly die on the operating table from the surgery (the chances are way less now than they were 4-5 years ago).  I was so concerned about this until I woke up checking for heat to see if I had already died and gone to hell or not - not that I wanted to mind you, but let's be real, I've been a sinner for a long dayum time and I really didn't think I had a shot at "making it."

When I kept feeling cold air on my half-nekkid butt under that flimsy gown, I quickly realized that I wasn't in hell or heaven for that matter and that I was actually in the recovery room.  I was so relieved until I just passed out from sheer excitement and woke up again in my hospital room in minimal pain.
