OT: Wednesday Morning Bird Quiz

I went out birdwatching yesterday...and it was probably my best day of birdwatching this year so far.  One of the birds that stood out in my mind was this morning's quiz bird.

It stood out in my mind because it flew into a tree that was near me...and was above me just "screaming and screaming".  (I think it was probably building a nest nearby...and didn't want me in the area.)

Any guesses on the name of this bird?

it is a "raptor"...but...not an owl...it is a hawk

Without doing my research, I am guessing a red shouldered hawk.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHELLE......(dayum she got that fast)...this is indeed the Red-shouldered Hawk!!!

(She got that so fast I'm putting up another morning quiz...lol.  Hey...I saw a lot of birds yesterday...LOL)

I love hawks!!!  They just fascinate me.
