How long was your recovery period

Are you having your surgery open or lap? In my opinion, this makes a big difference. Open will take longer to recover from then lap. I needed 4 weeks for open but I took 6 weeks just cause I could. I am a revision patient though, I had my first surgery lap and felt great after 1 week.

I'm still PreOp, but I've heard everything from 3 to 4 weeks LAP, and add two more weeks for open.

I do know my procedure will be on a Wednesday and I will be going home that Friday.  I will be working that following Monday(from home) so I won't have to spend any PTO time.  Sweet.

I only took about 3 days really.  No lie.  I was driving my truck and running errands a day after I came home from the hospital. 

I think what really helped me recover faster than most was that I used to walk a lot prior to surgery in preparation for my exercise regimen after surgery.  But everyone is different so don't compare yourself or try to compete with anyone.  Take as much time as you really need. 

4 weeks but I took 6 cause thats what my job allowed

i took 6 weeks off and needed it . I also had other medical issues so 6 weeks was what I needed good luck

Mine was open, I was cut from my breast bone to my belly button. I took 6 weeks, but had to take an additional week off. Good luck and congrats!

I had Lap RNY and took 2 weeks off. I used the first week to recover, and 2nd week to shop & see movies! LOL really the 2nd week I felt "back to normal" and got into a good routine that I was able to maintain at work.

I had Open and honestly I could have returned to work in 2weeks(don't tell my boss) I stayed out for 6wks....lol  You will be fine in 2 weeks take a extra week to play with. Good Luck and congrats on your big day.
