Trina, you know I wear my hair short but my stylist gives me a new look every 2 weeks and the "other" folks at my job are used to my spikes, flips or whatever else Paula decides to do with my hair. But, they used to want to "touch" it all the time and it drove me crazy too!!!

Girl good question as usual!

Pink people have been rockin the wigs and hair pieces since the Victorian Era and before I believe. Our 1st President rocked a wig for heavens sake! LOL! However negroes always gotta be put on front street for a laugh or some sort of negativity while at the same time the pink people roung the back copy writing and profitting off our backs. Dear Lawd don't get me started! LOL! Forgive me if I seem a lil miffed. I'm a lil aggravated cuz my laptop ain't workn, so I gotta use my cellphone to get on the internet nowadays!

Back to the subject at hand. If one mo pink person ask me how often I wash my hair, I'm lettn the mofo have it! By the way, I wash, condition and oil and re-twist erry 3-4days

Hugs!

I get it from my co-workers too.....even the ones of color.

I walked in today with a mohawk  ( braided one at that )  and folks was saying they didnt recognize me and would have to change my name to match my new look.

I just politely laughed it off.

Chaka said it best :
I'm ev'ry   woman...its all in meeeeeeeeeee

In life,  and especially on this journey there are sure to be days when you falter and give in.......just remember to never give up.

While I don't go for the "can I touch it?" stuff, you know this also CAN work to our advantage...  There are 1 1/2 black folks, lol at my job (me FT and 1 part-timer.)

As such, they don't know WTH we're supposed to look like and don't know what a "torn up" do is...I can get away with "extra time" between relaxers or leave those individuals in a little longer, lol.

The last time a black lady interviewed at my job, I joked:  "Dang, now I'm gonna have to start back to doing my hair!!!"
