Newbie - Vitamin Question

Hi, I'm new to the board and I am finding all of the topics very helpful. But it is so much to take in. Can anyone tell me what vitamins that I should stock up on before my surgery? My surgery is March 16th and I want to make sure I have everything I need. My doctor told me a multivitamin, Sublingual B-12, B-1, Vitamin D and Beta Carotene. Have any of you found out that you needed others after the surgery that you didn't know of before?

Any other helpful tips will be appreciated also. I'm getting nervous that I have read so much information that I might forget about something.

Thanks to all in advance!

Oh yeah, Cali representin'!

IF your surgeon has given you that  list then that's pretty much it. I'm about 11 months out and I'll find out at my 1 year post op whether anything else is needed. I currenty take calcium twice a day and my mulit vitamin twice a day and my B12 sub once a week.

Edited to add:hometown in NoCal! Whatsup cali sistah?

Hey I would stick to your surgeon's suggestion, then at your 3 mo labs or whenever they do thier first labs those results will tell you what you have to tweak. Vitamins is def a individual need. What I might need extra in you might be in a normal range and not need extra supplementation.

Hi Nekiya, glad you are getting prepared.  I started out with a children's multi vitamin, chewables like flintstones or some other characters.  It's been over a year for me and I am forgetful, but will be happy to go back and send you some information.  On my way out right now.

When you devote yourself to achieving your goal, you will not be bothered by shallow criticism.
