drink them damn shakes every day and still lose weight?  I didn't have time for breakfast so I decided to make a quick shake. Between the milk and powder that was 300 calories (it was also 37 grams of protein as well) but then I was still hungry when I got to work I know I ate about 1400 calories today!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a protein rich breakfast on the go?

1700-1900 calories a DAY? I guess cause my NUT told me I should ony get up to about 1200 calories I guess that's why she doesn't want me to do shakes on a regular basis.

Hmm - ok.  follow the nut..... I don't have one.  I just BUST em....

ok ok - for reals - if you take in too few calories your body won't allow you to lose - a steady 1200 a day for somebody with your height and working out may not be enough.....

but I ain't the medical professional..........

LOL...you a fool cole! Well I ate about 800 calories the first 7-8 months and lost 130 and much to my sadness am STILL losing. I try to eat more calories and honestly the more I eat the more I lose. I do the shakes only when I want to make myself plateau for a minute as soon as I stop drinking the shake I lose weight.

300 calories is a lot for one meal? I would be careful of eating so few calories. Your body will take what it needs and you could be losing bone mass and lean muscle. Especially since you are working out.

While you're in your weight loss window you might have to take your calories up much more to maintain your current weight and maybe introduce some different foods or add more complex carbs. Once the window closes you might have to reposition your eating so you won't gain. Weighing once a week will help you figure out how to tweak your plan.

300 is a lot for one mea when its a iquid meal meaning I'm gonig to be hungry for another 2-300 in an hour. I've seen my NUT earlier this month and she agreed that my plan is correct. I eat very clean so I eat very dense protein most days and I also eat my carbs, fruits, and veggies throughout the day I think the most I've eaten is like 1,300 calories a day and I was full through the next morning felt HORRIBLE. My NUT isn't concern about the weight loss right now because I'm still in the "healthy" BMI range and could lose another 10-15 lbs before there is even a hint of concern on her part.

I'm ok about paying the $50.00 bucks to my NUT to make sure that I'm doing exactly what I'm suppose to do to be and stay healthy but it just amazes me how many more calories I eat if I drink a shake during the day.

Im real paranoid about that too.  Just seems like a lot of calories to me.  I don't do too well with a meal first thing in the AM, so shakes are my friend, I just have to watch the rest of the day.  If I don't do a shake I do the fage yogurt.  Easy on Roxy and high protein.  My absolute favorite way to eat it right now is w/ a lil splenda, crushed pineapple, coconut and pecans (verrrrry little of each, just enough that you know it's there)

Hmmmmm that sounds really good. I never thought about adding some nuts or something to my yogurt to increase the protein in that too.

300 calories for a protein shake is a lot UNLESS you are making a smoothie and using it as a meal replacement.

If you are using it just to increase your protein intake, then you may want to switch to Skim milk (4ounces - 45 calories) and a higher grade whey protein powder.  Isopure is great and it only has 100 calories per scoop.

Try making a protein/fruit/yogurt smoothie in the mornings and using it as one of your meals.  They are very filling. Just be sure to read the labels.

During that time of the month, I make a chocolate explosion protein milkshake to satisfy the sweet/chocolate craving.  1 scoop of chocolate Isopure protein powder (100 cal), 3 ounces of FF chocolate milk 40 cal), 1 tbl of Hershey's cocoa powder (20 cal), 2 tbls of SF chocolate syrup 25 cal**** and splenda. 185 calories total.   Lawdy, lawdy!
