I can't see the pic on here but I saw this yesterday. (It was a window display of Pres and Mrs. Obama books with a book on monkeys in the middle....SMDH)

Here is the response from B&N:

"We regret that this has happened and apologize to our customers. The book was never intended to be included in our display and was removed as soon as we became aware of the situation. We are looking into it and taking the steps necessary so that it does not happen again. From time to time customers will move titles from one area of the store to another. In this particular case, we do not condone whatever message may have been intended with the placement of this title in our Presidential display. It certainly was not part of our merchandising and we regret that we didn't see the placement of this title immediately."

Well damn!  Just ruin my post why don't you, Ms. Kimmy Kim!  I don't come over to your job and kick your stapler out of your hand now do I?

Nah... I'm just playing.  I didn't see this.  Someone sent me the picture and caption the way I did with y'all and I felt my blood boiling.  Obama is a better man than me because I couldn't keep turning the other cheek like he does.  I'm from the Slap-a-Mofo-Quick tribe and we don't take that stuff.

I find since the election, people are becoming more and more outspoken / bold about their racial attitudes.  This may become worse before it becomes better.   I hope not, though.

"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer."   Plutach.  Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.

Some people just always want someone to blame regardless.  I read on CNN yesterday that hate groups have increased by 54% (and that's of the folks that they know about that they can track.)

I agree Dalexis.

It will and I truly believe that this type of mess keeps happening over and over because America has this attitude of continuously letting things die down after lets say a day or two of outrage. Here is a link to yet another incident committed by a California mayor. He sent an email flyer to friends announcing that there will be no Easter egg hunt at the White House this year. The picture depicted a lawn full of watermelons... so now he's resigning citing that due to his actions he is not able to lead his city. (the lyin ass wonder)What the hell does being a racist have to do with ones abiltiy to lead? That excuse is an insult to everyones intellegence. I have always said that these incidents are psychological warefare and the masters of it are at work.  http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090227/ap_on_re_us/mayor_waterm elon_e_mail

IMO I believe that America has been a ticking timebomb for a long long lonnnnggggg time and these next few years just may bring about an explosion. If you notice, the flurry of racism always occur after a milestone has occured. Do not be deceived, Barnes and Noble and the Mayor are very happy that their messages of hate got the attention that it did.
