I would find out if you still have a pylorus valve. RNYers do not, that's what makes them dump.

Not a TOGA expert, but I don't think you dump. Dumping comes from being rerouted. Perhaps when you feel this way your body is reacting from the carbs. If you were 100% compliant with your diet in the beginning and you strayed (a little bit) your body may needs to be re-acclimated to the foodstuff. Not sure.

Also, I thought the TOGA clinical trial was totally blind? If so, how do you know if you actually received it.

Hope your feeling better.

hello, i am considering having the revision. i had the stomach stapling in 2002, but since then i have gained all the weight back. it did take some time, but now i need the revision. i am currently 255 and 5ft 5in. i was wondering how much weight should i expect to lose in, let's say, 1 month? i am so afraid i am going to regret this surgery, but i am at the end of my rope and choice options. PLEASE HELP!!!

Adrienne there is no one size fits all revision. You will have to choose which procedure you want to have and then find the most capabke surgeon to do that revision. You could be revised to a RNY, sleeve, DS, to name the most popular revisions. Research each surgery and figure out which one you think you could be most successful with.

Am I the only one who is clueless as to what "Toga" is?
Please inform me Ashley.
At any rate, I am sorry that you are not feeling your best.  Hope you get to feeling better real soon.
I guess that is what trials are all about.  Learning what works and what does not.

ASHLEY YOU COULD BE EXPERIENCING SF OR ASPARTAME ALLERGY...I COULD TOLERATE EVERYTHING SF WITH THE BAND HOWEVER WITH THE RNY I FOR HOURS EVEN WITH A SMALL AMOUNT.

It seems natural that you would dump.  Your surgery type is the same, just HOW they did the surgery is different.

Ok I googled the mess out of your surgery and read about 10 articles, it seems that your stomach was only stapled, there was no rerouting of your intestines at all. You would still have your pylorus valve and therefore would NOT dump. Your surgery is strictly restrictive, kinda like the VSG but not quite, for example yours is reversible.

Just so you know there are many normies that can not do Sugar free items. The sugar alcohols in these items tear people's stomachs UP. Anything that has malitol in it is a no go for me. You prob gonna have to check labels on all sugar free items and see what substitutes affect you and which don't.
