Since I have decieded to go through with the weightloss surgery I have been disgusing it with few people (family and friends)...for one main reason

Either they say your not that big Dawn I dont think you need the surgery...its not that serious!!
Or can't you just go on a diet?

I am so sick of trying to explain myself...they say oh how much do you weigh...no you cant weigh that much etc...like Im freaking lying...so I have deceided to cease with letting anyone know anything and when the weight starts to drop off I will tell them I made a wish and woke up this way!!

People can be such a holes sometimes!!

I have decided to make a change in my life that would benefit me for my future and make me a healthier and happier person...

But anywho they can keep that negativity over there....

March 30 here I come!!

Hi Dawn

I was 237 when I had my surgery.  A lot of people said the same things to me.
At the end of the day YOU have to be happy with you!!!  You are embarking on a journey that will make you a healthier, happier person.  Shake the comments off and keep moving!!

That's precisely why I've told very few people.  I don't have to explain myself to anyone.  And neither do you, Lil' Sis.

Yes I was told that and when I told them that I weighed 355 lbs they didn't believe me because I'm 6'3 I carry my weight well. I was using a cane or a walker a lot because of my arthritis, fibromyalgia, 3 knee surgeries and peripheral neuropathy. My ortho doc. wanted to give me knee replacements but I was too young and too heavy.

Just yesterday someone asked me if I was through losing weight and I said no that I wanted to lose 20 more pounds and she said where is it going to come from? I've got a tummy and thighs and I know that 180 lbs may be small for my height but we'll just have to see.

Ignore them and do what is best for you

"My ortho doc. wanted to give me knee replacements but I was too young and too heavy."

mine said the same thing...I have arthoscopic knee surgery in 2007, knee injections in 2008 and I walk with a cane sometimes...

so has the weight loss helped and how was it getting the exercise in with the knee problems?

My knees are soooo much better and exercise is good except I'm having some neurological issues right now and can only do physical therapy exercises. I have some issues that don't have cures but can go into remission or be cured by God. I haven't used a cane since surgery.

When it comes to WLS alot of people have negative things to say.  As long as your happy with your decision forget them!!  You thing you've heard it all just wait till you start dropping weight (your going to lose friends and all)!!!
