Something is happening...
I posted a few nights ago a plea for HELP for the first time on the black forum I am racially mixed and (I'd never been on here before -NEVER knew there was one before)--because I was once again losing my hair but not just a few strands more like a few then some every time I touched them... Well I did some research.... I am trying something and it seems to be working for ME at least. Now KNOWLEDGE is POWER "I" believe and so I went to go EDUCATE my self some more about my loss of hair (and get some tests done)and I discovered something "I" didn't know that-- that hair follicles the bulbs that you might sometimes see on the end of the hair if it comes out don't mean it isn't going to come back BECAUSE the CELLS that are in your SCALP are what REGENERATE the hair in the end... When those CELLS no longer have the ability to reproduce that is a different matter... Then it is Propica time but I'm getting off track - I also read which I am sure aot of you know but "I" didn't or had forgotten from years ago that IRON e.g. another generic source of protein so to speak is needed for the cells to reproduce as well as your other vits like the B12 and so on if you read about them you realize that they are all important to cell reproduction... Anyhow I was ANEMIC BEFORE the surgery and was taking something then --well I have had to have MORE of it and NOW it is stopping granted yes I still am losing a few hairs but nothing like before... I feel it is trial and error for each person different things work for different people what works for me may not work for you and you for me but it is a wake up call to make sure you have your levels checked out BECAUSE sometimes that one key component may need to be raised in order to help sustain life in some part of your body..Yes I still take my Biotin and my protein but that Iron was REAL important getting it raised and The kind I take I have no side effects thank you God. Also I Just wanted to Add with non Caucasion hair as you know you must take EXTRA good care of it I also have been using a daily leave in conditioner with Keratin in my hair to strengthen it - as I said these are things I do that work for me they may not work for you but you should try it is all about trial and experiment time now... But KERATIN is very important for post ops I feel we NEED that to keep our hair STRONG I ALSO DEEP CONDITION with a good one I leave mine one a day. My hair has to be shampooed almost every day but lately I have skimped and waited a few days in between and I bru**** GENTLY no comb anymore unless I blowdry and then it is low heat and detangling comb -and I used to keep my hair up in a bun NOW I keep it in a loose (VERY LOOSE) pony hair (tight pony tails buns ect pulls out hair till it re stregthens again and contribute to the loss) you really have to baby your hair during this time till your get kinda out of the woods I am going on my third month soon and I won't be doing much with my hair till maybe summer I am just letting it be. But I just wanted to share my experience it might help someone you know...
Layla,
Thanks for the information! It is different for very person but I am happy to say that it does end and the hair starts coming back in. In my case I switched from a children's gummy vitamin to an adult gummy vitamin and increased my b-12 and I stopped shedding so much right away. I also avoided chemical treatments and only got my hair done in the salon so that I wouldn't mess it up.
