Just Be Thankful For What YOU'VE Got!!!
Hey y'all...just got out of the Ash Wednesday Worship Service...which was off the chain! As we reflected on this 40-day Lenten period, a period of self-reflection, re-commitment to God and repentence, it reminded me of the fact that there are some of us who complain about what others have - and we don't.
There are some of us who want to 'be like the Joneses' - when we don't even realize that the Joneses may not have those things we believe that ensure their happiness...but, this reminds me - Just be thankful for what I'VE got!!!
I know that I've got God on my side...
I know that I have a Savior who loves me, in spite of me
I know that I've got peace in my heart today...a peace that MAN/WOMAN didn't give me and a peace that no one can take away!
I know that there is NOTHING more precious than God's love
I know that we ALL have fallen short
I know that I have GOOD, TRUE friends who love me, unconditionally (thanks ladies!)
I know that NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL/WILL PROSPER!!!
So, ask yourself...are you THANKFUL for what YOU'VE got? Are you one to look in another's window to find out what blessings they have? Are you one who covets your neighbor's "stuff"? If so...I encourage you...BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU'VE GOT!!! Your blessings are YOURS...theirs are THEIRS...

Sharon...that song was a JAMMMMM!!! I still like stepping to it...and it makes PERFECT SENSE!!!
People need to learn that sometimes they THINK they want what others have, when all along they have so many blessings of their own that they can't see..because they are too busy looking at the blessings of others!
But baby...remember what the BIBLE says: the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. I can look at that statement and know that God gives us unmerited gifts (those which we don't earn on our own, but rather because He loves us)...and He has the power to take those gifts away (when we don't use them to HIS glory and to bless His Name).
I just wish people would learn to cherish one another...cherish their families...cherish their gifts...because in the blink of an eye...those things and people that we hold so near and dear to our hearts can be snatched away from us, never to be seen, felt, touched again. That's how precious LIFE is...a fleeting moment...

OKAY... I am going to give my morning PRAISE report on your page... KB got a $10,000.00 raise... He know has his GS 12... I am so blessed for him... Very proud that he stepped out on faith and applied for the position... I'm getting ready to go back to WORK NOW...

Joy had her 11th grade interview with a Lawyer... He told my baby that with her grades she can get into one of the best Law Schools... He also gave her his business card and told her to make contact with him for a summer job... He stated that when she graduates from High School he was going to make sure she had a job with his firm... I am so proud of my baby!!!
My mother called me and told me that my baby sister has a heart condition and that the doctor told her that she may not live to be 36... LAWD TODAY!!! But I know a man from GALILEE... His name is JESUS... I am praying for my sister these next 39 DAYS faithfully!!! God is going to bring her out of this... Through prayer and supplication... I know he can... FAITH without WORKS is DEAD!!! I have that DUMB FAITH... God has already HEALED her heart...
I knew that through all the HELL I've been through... that GOD was bringing about a BREAK-THROUGH!!! MY STORM IS OVER... If you thought I was shining before... Just wait to see how GOD put it on ME!!!
The Bible says TOUCH not my ANOINTING and do my PROPHET NO harm... I know who I am in Chirst... God is in the BLESSING business... And Vonda is his BUSINESS!!!
I am so thankful for LIFE... I'm thankful for all of my FRIENDS... MY FAMILY... I'm Thankful FOR DONNA!!! I love you sis and I really mean that...

Very true commentary. DD. so much to be thankful for. I never look at others blessings in want. I always want and need my own. God is good that way.
when I was a young preacher....one of my favorite sayings was...stop trying to stay up with the Joneses.....come on down with the Browns, come hang out with the Smiths'.....get in where you fit in....
...i have never been a fan of those that we use to talk about in church....You know those who spend money they dont have to buy stuff they dont need to impress people they dont like.....
I believe there is peace when we live at the level we are blessed at while striving to go where we believe we have the grace to go.....and as you state all along being thankful for what we've got.
