o/t - Would you ???

I watched Ed Doud grandfather of 8 on  Oprah yesterday and  he admitted that he thought  that something wasnt right with his daughter Nadya  despite the fact that she's intelligent & sophisticated and is in pursuit of her Master's degree in Psychology.

He also said that his daughter  was not on welfare...but was receiving food stamps.  
Oprah was quick to let him know that food stamps is a type of public assistance. 

I feel bad for the kids most of all because the family dosent have enough income to give them the quality of life they deserve. 

Not to metion that their house is 23, 000  behind in mortgage payments......and facing foreclosure.

The grandfather admitted that he was a prideful man, but yesterday he said point blank - that the kids need help financially and not to hold it against them for his daughter's decision. 

Did anybody else see the show...is anybody gonna donate to the website set up for the kids ??

I dont think I will,  but I cant help but feel bad for the kids...the 6 she had already and the newborns.

I saw it, but I wouldn't donate.  Partly because I need to set up a website for my damn self, and partly because I just wouldn't.  I think having all them kids is crazy, but at the same time I think people need to get over it.  Everyone's heart was all filled with love and compassion till they started digging and found out who she was.  There are plenty of married, financially stable folk that don't need ONE kid.  I say if you wanna be angry, be angry at those kind of bastids.

I think you are so right......when folks found out that this wasnt the " ideal " family situation......they started turning noses up and instantly thought the babies were some get rich, quick scheme.

Everybody knows you cant get rich having  to care for 14 kids...no matter how much the public pours their heart & pockets out to her and the family 

No, i'm not going to donate because they live in America and I am pretty sure they will get the money, sooner or later they will stop being stupid and accept money for the interviews.  I can understand they don't want to take the money so they can say we weren't paid for this but screw that when you have 14 dam kids you need to get paid for every word that comes out your mouth and if questioned about it say hell yeah I got paid for it, I have 14 babies to take care of. 

I only give to st. Jude and to the charity that buys livestock for people in other countries.  Oh and my mama. 

True Lee........I wonder when they are gonna crack and start taking money for the interviews.

I guess when the mortgage company comes a knocking to remove them from the property.

I'm curious how this story is gonna end.......we may never know.......but Im sure the media is gonna follow them for a long, long time.......

I feel you on taking care of mama......I try to be as good to mine,  in whatever way possible as much as I can.

That woman is a LOON...no way she should have had the six she had prior to the octuplets. It ****** me off that she receives assistance, yet *magically* she could afford all of the IVF!! Do you know how much that ish costs?! It's NOT cheap. I feel sorry for the children though. I don't know WHY people have a bunch of kids like this, especially in this day and age, and with the economy the way it is. I would like more but I have to be practical minded when it comes to my $$$, ya know? I think it sucks that Kaiser expects Medi-Cal to foot the $2 million hospital bill. I think the quack RE who did the IVF should have to pay for it. And let's not even mention how much she probably paid for all the ugly azz plastic surgery on her face...I saw a 'before' photo and she actually used to be reasonably attractive.

Valena  I know people on welfare that wear $200 jeans, have nice ass expensive hair and car and everything,

Lee the same way my oldest brother and wife do it with their 8 kids (4 diff daddies). They stay in a 5 bedroom house TWICE the size of my house and  pay $100 in rent!! 

The ONLY downside I HATE about being a Democrat is the constant hand-outs that are given with NO LIMITS. 

Sounds like its a child support, section  8 party going on in their house....



I got friends like that as well....they aint worked in years.  And their hair is always done,  car is fully loaded an cabinets are stocked better than mine.  

Meanwhile Im struggling week after week trying to take care of the one I got , off the 1 paycheck I get, and the measly child support I receive every  blue moon. 

Thats why I mine as well  eat right and exercise.  I dont have control over much else........

Girl you get child support  My child's father has been just about to mail me a check for child support for the last 5 years. He ain't do it yet. Still waiting...
