I thought I was doing everything I was suppose to do..
I thought I was doing everything I was suppose to do to lose weight. Why am I three pounds heavier than I was last week. I do not understand it. I am exercising more, trying to get all my protein in, and drinking my water. I do not eat much at all. I always eat less than a cup of food at each sitting. I have been having crackers lately . I will do away with the crackers and see if that helps. I am disappoinited but I will keep on working hard. I got a new elipitical machine which I started using yesterday so hopefully that will help. Have you experienced this if so how did you handle it?

I was able to add crackers/melba toast/ rice cakes about 2 weeks ago to my diet and every since then my weight has slowed down. I think it's too many carbs and I was retaining fluid as well. I'm sure those three pounds will be gone off you before you know it. I'm with you though with giving up the crackers for awhile to see if the scale starts moving down again.
I think its the crackers to...i know i havent been doing too well but i will give my 2 cents anyway .. check your calories and make sure they are still in order... those crackers can add up on calories and carbs....and try not to weigh too often because the scale likes to play tricks with your mind...also depending on the time you weigh your weight will be different.. never weigh at nite because you will always be heavier. always do it in the morning
My life is like McDonalds....I'm Lovin It
first - calm down
second - just because you had surgery doesn't mean your body will lose continuously at a particular rate for a certain amount of time.
Your body will go through a series of adjustments as you continue on - you are about two-three months out which is prime time for the first adjustment. Your body will attempt to compensate for the effects of the surgery and this is why you see your loss slow or you might see a couple pounds variance.
Your idea of exercise is GREAT - that will help you blast through the adjustment by confusing your body yet again - the surgery already has your body shocked and wonder 'where da hell is all my food?' - so it's altering processes to try to hold on to weight. The exercise will force you into loss mode again in such a way your body can't adjust. It's all about balance and adjustment!
keep following the rules - and get your WATER in - start exercising three or more times a week - this will help keep you fit and build tone which you WANT as you lose.

Thanks #1MM I have been varying my workout so I do toning bands, walking, and now my elipitical. I definitely get in the three days a week of exercise. I am trying to get it up to five. I will calm down it just last week I only lost a pound I believe and this week I am heavier. So I will up the water and exercise. If I take anymore food away I will probably put my body in starvation mode.
Taking food away is NOT the answer - with the exercise you are doing - you probably need to ADD.
I was 'coaching' a newbie a long time ago - he had a slow couple weeks of loss and we reviewed his activity and intake - he was taking in only like 1000 calories and exercising regularly - getting protein in and whatnot. He had also been eating mashed potatoes from KFC - just the regular side portion - and it took him all day to get that down.
He thought the potatoes were slowing him down. I had to point out - your big azz used to eat a 4 piece, full size potatoes and mac and cheese side - now you only eating the regular size side of em - do you REALLY think that lil bowl of potatoes is keeping the extra 200 pounds on your big azz??? I love to be raw with mine!!!! LOL
One thing you should do is add good calories - crackers with peanut butter is a great preworkout snack - will give you energy and protein and some good fats to help your body balance. I am NOT a nutritionist and not trying to be - but that's one thing I did early out when I was working out regularly.
