need to come clean

Ashley,

It takes awhile to realize that wls changes the body, but all the stuff that we have in our minds prior to wls is still with us after wls.  It takes time and hard work to change habits that are not good for us.  When things get stressful, its easy to fall back on what we know.

Being aware and admiting what you are doing means that you are on the road to making some positive changes.  You don't have to do it all alone; if you need some addition help -- go get it.  Find out when the wls support group meets in your area and go to the meeting.  You will find yourself in the company of people that feel the same way that you do.

Weight was my security blanket and when I started losing weight, I felt naked and exposed.  It's hard to get over those feelings, but trust me -- it can be done.

You are beautiful now; you may not be the size you want to be, but that has nothing to do with your beauty.  It has not been that long since you had your surgery; it may take you a little longer but you are going to get to your comfortable place.

Behind the weight loss pictures are people that have worked very hard to get to where they are now.  Often we see the end results and get down on ourselves because we have not had the same success. It's easy to forget that we all have a "how I got over story".  Hang on girl and press, press hard -- you have to fight against those things that are keeping you from moving forward.  I know it's hard -- I fight everyday, but it's a fight that is "worth fighting"

Peace and Blessings

Karen

Peace and Blessings to you.

Hi Ashley,

Be encourage my sister. Believe that you are not the only one who is struggling along this journey that we all have decided to have placed into our lives.  Remember every day is a new start and a new beginning for you.   Whatever you do don't quit.

My past and present positions does not define me as to who I am;
But, they are mere stepping-stones that will lead me t
o who I am to become.
