Okay....first off...I'm generally pretty shy. This was my first time to Zanzibar and my first time in about 10 years, going to a club.

I was to meet a friend of mine at Zanzibar in DC. We were gonna meet up there around 9pm. On my way up there I called my hubby and asked if he could call his buddy who is always on the VIP list  in every club in DC, to see if he could give us the hook up. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to contact him, so I parked my car and walked up to the entrance where you get "patted down." I asked if there was an ATM so I could pay to get in. The guy directed me towards the machine in the club. As I was getting my cash, some guy came up to me and asked if I I had to pay to get in, and i told him, I was getting cash to do so. He said, don't worry about it, I got you. I was like, huh? He went on to say that he worked there, and I didn't have to pay. He cleared it with the bouncer guy, and I was good to go. From then on, I was treated like a celebrity. People were waiting on me hand an foot.

Then he directed me to the live jazz area, gave me a seat at a table, and asked if I wanted a drink. I asked for a double Parrot Bay neat . A waiter came by and I looked at my glass and asked, "This is a double?" I guess at home I'm heavy handed. LOL.  Well, 2 min. later, another double came. I'm like...okay..... Then next thing you know, my bill was paid.

In addition to that, my old college friend was the entertainment...Brian Lenair. So I was real excited to see, and hear him again. I caught up with him when he was done, and then I walked over to the larger regular area.

People asked me if I was a celebrity, or if I was "something special". While I have been feeling like one, I was just little old me.  Every where I turned, some guy was either offering to buy me a drink or asking me to dance or telling me to call them so I would never have to pay for a thing at the club, I could get on some list and be set.  I was having a great time. I saw some of the OH folks who looked like they were having a blast as well.

I literally danced the entire night. I couldn't believe that I wasn't hot , sweaty or tired. I would dance 4 songs with one guy and he would be totally tired and I'm ready for the next song. Then someone else would ask me to dance. One guy said, "Damn woman, you got a hell of a lot of energy! You must work out EVERY day!" I just laughed.

I had so much fun that night, but unfortunately, I was by myself. My friend had a family emergency and couldn't make it out there.

So now, this "little ole' me" is now my own VIP, at least at Zanzibar.

That was then.... but this is now......

Sounds like you had a great time.   If I was there I would have bought you a drink also.
