New Post-op Tip of The Day
If I don't make sense, it's due to cold and flu meds. I can't seem to get well lately.
Today's tip is be careful with sf, low carb and fat free foods. Just because those products have those labels doesn't mean that they are bariatric friendly. Check the calorie counts on these products and the carbs and the sugars. Your NUT and surgeon will give you a plan and it is up to you to pick what is best for you. One thing to remember is if what you put in your mouth going to accomplish your goal and provide the proper nourishment for you? If the answer is no, then maybe you should save it for later in your journey, remember to get your protein first, get in your water and all of your vitamins, everything else will come in later.

I dont do the sugar free because you are right ..thats not always true

I learned through trial and error that you can get just as 'hooked' on low carb,sf snacks as you can on the 'regular' ones!! And them hoes ain't no more 'forgiving' to the waistline!!!!!

Girl those protein bars will put some weight on you like crazy. I have to slice them up in three pieces and eat 1 piece a day for a snack or just not go there. Those things have too many calories, carbs and sugars. I will do a South Beach or Atkins Bar if my blood sugar drops and I don't have anything else with me.
SF free 0 but how many alcohol sugar does it contain or other things that just is sweet. And also being aware of the high soduim without getting enough liquids.
