New Post-op Tip Of The Day
Okay, yesterday I went for my 1 yr post-op checkup and I'm going to give you a tip straight from my nutritionist's mouth. First let me say that every program is different so follow what your NUT says and I know that a lot of vets will not agree with this. I know what I think but I'm not going to put my opinion in this statement for once but just give it to you straight.
She asked me if I wanted to lose more weight or maintain and I said lose more weight. So she told me in order to lose weight that I should not eat more than 15 grams of carbs a day !!!! She also said that once I'm maintaining that I can then go up to 45 carbs a day. So we should be getting our 60-80 grams of protein, 64-80 ozs of water and no more than 800 calories and 15 grams of carbs daily of course taking our vitamins.
These are tips from a nutritionist but check with your own to find out if you're on the right track.

That is interesting: that is way more restrictive than even Atkins phase 1. But she is making a lot of sense. She isn't putting wt loss past the first year on mal-absorption. That eating plan will get you there. Thanks for the Tip.

Oh yeah my surgeon's program is strict. They don't even allow fruit until you are at goal. I asked yesterday if I could add some fruit to my cottage cheese and the answer was no because there were to many carbs in them. Well I will get these last 15-20 lbs off and see what happens. But like I said, follow your own program.
