Any swimmers here?
I am not a strong swimmer, in fact I am terrible at it. I actually took lessons a few years ago but, after a certain age it's no good and I could only really pick a few swim moves. I can, however, save myself if I get into trouble and I love going swimming (my version of swimming). I hope I can get a place with or near a pool and then I can swim almost everyday. Well, splash around.

Swimming excercises every muscle in your body and is a fabulous exercise. It is great for people with joint problems and arthritis. I taugh****er aerobics for a couple of years and loved it. I even taught it at 355 lbs. Another water exercise is water walking, 30 minutes of water walking is equivalent to 2 hrs on land. This is not a leisurely stroll, this is getting at least waist deep, but I prefer to get in up to my chest or higher. and walk as fast as you can in water and use your arms. I've even done water yoga and it's wonderful because I'm not very flexible but in the water I am. Good luck finding what works for you.
Swimming is about the only exercise I can do without paying the painful consequences. I've loved the water my whole life. After I got swimming lessons for my kids, my oldest one thaught me how to swim when he was 8 years old. He charged me for the lessons.
A few years later my boys taught me to in-line skate. I loved that more than anything. I cannot do it anymore but I like to visit the skate department at the Sporting Goods store to look at the skate. MAN ....I miss speeding down hill!!!
