Any swimmers here?

I joined a gym a month after my band because they have an indoor and an outdoor pool.  I love to swim.  I've tried the water aerobics, but it's rather boring.  The pool is 4 1/2 feet deep all over, and there are 3 lanes for lap swimming.  I exercise better when I'm doing something that I like doing and getting my exercise in.  Anyone else swim for exercise?

P.S. - I know I have the hair thing to worry about, but I'm about to get it cut short.

I don't swim often, but when I do I love it.  In a way, its the perfect exersize in that it helps to build lean muscle, helps with ur cardio, and you work out ur entire body.

That's what I"m hoping.  I've lost 51 pounds, and my skin is getting loose!

Swimming will allow me to do it when I want to, and not be stuck in a "class".

Besides walking...(OK...BIRDWATCHING...LOL)...my primary exercise my first year out of surgery was swimming.  It "really" helped me out.  I wish I hadn't given it up...because I LOVE swimming.

I feel the same way.  While I love swimming, its a pain to do in the winter months.  All that daggone ice in the Hudson River is a pain in the rump..

LOL
