No one is going to knock on your door looking for the money. If you have bills and you need the money to pay it. take the money. But just so you know you are paying for a loan that you can never ever get rid of in case times get hard and your job lays you off or something. If you need the money that bad I would first see if I could get an unsecured loan that just in case stuff gets real rough and I can't pay it they not going to be snatching my future income tax refund money.

Uncle Sam won't mess with you unless you go into default. Once they're notified that you've withdrawn from school, the letters start coming with payment coupons. From there you can do a deferment or explore your options. If the interest rate on your loan is pretty low, go for it.

Hey Ms. MM:

Student loans are not just for tuition. Actually they are for students who are enrolled in an approved educational institution at the time the funds are granted and diseminated, and who qualify for the loan per their guidelines. Actually most student loan funds go to assist students with most things that are NOT tuition related. Example: If you got a scholarship that paid all of your tuition and your financial aid officer said that your qualify for 15K in student loans, after they look at your account and determine that you do not owe them any money, they will Refund you a check for the difference....It is then up to you to do with it as you please. When I was in law school, I used my refund for my living expenses/books/clothes... (as do most students, whether they live on or off campus).

REMEMBER
: This is a Loan, and you do pay interest, and you can NEVER get out of a student loan debt, not even by bankruptcy. They also have the power to GARNISH your wages/salary and add collection costs to your principle. These are "PERKS" that most other creditors do not possess; so you are going to pay no matter what..they will get what you owe them even unto death, cause they WILL be there at the Estate Probate Hearing, LMRAO!!!  ENJOY the money.

Actually, you will owe the school the entire amount if you accept the money, not just the $1800, but the full amount of the loan. I would call and tell them so they will not deposit it.

I focus not on my disabilty; my focus is on my ABILITIES.
