Hey Guys So I have 17 days Till the new me. I've started my liquid diet and on the 4th day I was cursing @ a bowl of soup. I'm tired of sipping on but I know, I need to do this, and this is how my diet will look for awhile. I've been drinking alot of water, Crystal light, Orange juice and sugar free jello as well as broths. But being honest, I cheated and had a small spoonful bites here and there. (Yep that still the big gurl in me, If i can't have it just take a sample mind frame).
Did any of you stay strictly on your liquid diet or you treated your self to a meal once a week..
I needs some tips on staying on this liquid diet before i go CRAZY.
How did some of you guys get through it???

Well I started my liquid diet 10 days prior to surgery and stuck to it 95%...I was only allowed the slim fast low card drinks and all of the SF stuff...No soups or anything else for me...I was supposed to have my surgery open and the diet allowed me to have it Lapascropic so I am happy I stuck with it...Good Luck.

i didn't have to do the liquid diet, just nothing to eat 24 hrs prior to surgery. You can get through this, when you really start to get frustrated just remember why you're doing this..good luck!

Hey there!  TRY and stick to the plan as closely as possible, it's for the greater good.  Sip, sip , sip and repeat.  All those liquids should make you full.  Can you have shakes?  Those would help too with getting a full sensation.

I found ingesting something liquid be it a slim fast or broth every 3 hours helps keep the hebejebes away.  I was never a popsicle fan but I got into those SF frozen pops.  The fear that I was going to lose my mind, gain weight when I supposed to be losing pre-op -after all of the work it takes to get to this point in the process kept me on the straight and narrow.  Slips happen, but the new you - or new me- isn't going to happen if I we keep on doing the same ole, same ole.  I "treated", "gonna start tomorrow", "just this one'd" my way past 300 pounds. That behavior is over for the new me. I wouldn't plan to "treat" myself to food in your place.  You do deserve a treat though, can you think of something else - not food related you can treat yourself to?

Best Wishes and congratulations!

Lol yeah I can call it the hebejebes i notice if i wait to long when I'm hungry it get worst and then I get pissed I'm sipping broth. That's a good tip to try. Hum I can keep treating my self to a new pocketbook hum good idea I can find other ways to treat my self.

You sound like you are doing well......I would countinue to mix it up with different types of liquids.  Also now would be a good time to try different protien shakes to see which brand and flavors you'd like.  Also if you havnt already do stuff to keep your  mind and body busy so that you are not thinking about food.  For example sign up for a gym membership, shop for workout gear, map out a meal and exercise plan, look for a cute water bottle, decide who gets your big girl clothes after you start slimming down, recruit a workout buddy, pray , stay away from the food network channel lol, etc,,, etc,,,,

Thank you I am taking this time to experiment with different protein shakes and majority of them tastes gross but i found 2 that I can tolerate. you gave me some useful tips i never would have thought of. Prayer is a daily route i do from the time I open my eyes til the time I close them at night. Girl the food network is my down fall I find my self watching that network more often they ain't right LOL God bless you. You've been very helpful to me.

I had to do a liquid diet for a whole month...of course I was/am a heavy weight at 674lbs but what I suggest is that you use this time to break up w/ food! That is exactly what you have to do break up w/ food and learn to not live to eat but eat to live. I used food as a backdrop for life. Now w/ that break up the sun is brighter and wind alot smoother. I suggest you take this time to focus on other things. Hard I know but very much needed....

Smile for me.........
