I took one week off.  Had surgery on a Tuesday was back at work the following Monday.  If I had to do over again.  I would have problem taking two weeks instead of one.  Only from being tired no pain though.

Evening  sweetie,

I know you ask for lapbanders,   God Love Them.

Lapband was my first choice.

Then  I was denied by my insurance company for WLS  and had to self-pay.

Therefore I went with the  VSG,  gastric sleeve.

If she would like to research the sleeve,   she can start over on the VSG  board.

I was off  (work) 1  week.     No pains or issues..............

I took two weeks off of work, but I was actually better about 3 days aftrer surgery.  I had the usual gas pains and bloating, but other than that everything was good.

I had a nasal pain spray -- there was no way that I could take any pills.

I could have gone back to work in 1 week, but I was enjoying my time off.  My insisions were tender and sore, but not real painful.

I work with a lady that took two weeks off for her RNY.   She seemed to be doing ok, but there was no real reason for her to rush back.  She had plenty of sick & vacation time.  She used vacation so she did not need a dr's release to return to work.

I hope this helps.  Also, if your daughter wants to get her weight loss going fast -- the lap band can be a slow process, even with following all the rules.  Your daughter will get there, just not quickly.
