Can you believe it? After the drama today a purely weightloss related post...
My band has been too tight for about 3 weeks now. I spent a good two weeks throwing up daily, and before the lectures-I did go for an unfill but the Doc and his nurse couldn't hit my port because of a seroma that developed during my last surgery. But today, yep he got in, after draining yet more fluid off the seroma.
All this time I was under the impression there was about 6 cc's in my band, but nope a full 10cc 's was there No wonder I was having such trouble. Despite the fact that I could probably chew my own arm off I'm gonna stick with liquids tonight and slowly try to get back to regular food tommorrow.
And now back to As BAF Turns...

pardon my ignorance, but how come they can't tell how much is too much with the band? It seems like there would be a standard "threshold" for how much to insert with a fill. I see bandsters always saying they're too tight. Just wondering.

Hey QT. I'm not Michelle but here it goes. There are different sizes to the band and they hold different amounts. Combine that with the fac that our stomach sizes are different and you can't get a threshold. I can only hold 3 cc's in my band. My doc tried to do 4 and I felt the saline bubbling up in my throat.

Some docs start their fills very slowly, each person is different, I lost almost 30 lbs before I even had a fill. Sometimes, and we don't know why the effeccts of a fill can kick in almost a week later.
It doesn't help that due to my old job I moved alot. My Band was placed in Phx, I was getting fills in Madison, Wi, and when I finally got setteled in Illinois an entirely diffferent Dr replaced my port and took over fills. Plus when I had my port replaced they have to prime the tubing and I guess quite a bit of that fluid remained in.
