That is one of those questions that probably will never be answered sufficiently.
My theory? I think some people revel in speculating on other peoples' lives. They find humor in talking about others behind their backs shooting daggers at them.
The thing about society is that while it quick to put someone up on a pedestal, it is equally quick to pull someone crashing down to the pavement.
And, no, I'm not talking about this board. I mean life in general. The really pathetic thing, though, is when you have people who smile at you, give you pleasantries while in your presence, then, the moment your back is turned, proceed to call you everything but a child of God.
I'm not saying I'm perfect...but nor is anyone else. Most people are guilty of it at one time or another. They seem to revel at someone else's expense.

eta: one may also want to perhaps question the motives for telling CB about this bl chiot suddenly. Plenty of people are subject to bl chatter. Hell, I know I have been (not that I really give a chiot). Seems to me those who believe in the "run tell dat" method of commuication are just as guilty of chiot starting as those on the BL.
