New Post-op Tip of The Day

First let me say, thank you for all of the positive feedback. I also want to let you know if you don't see me for a while, it's because my computer died. My newer computer died a few weeks ago, my hubby had won it at his company picnic and there was no warranty. It was going to cost more than the computer is worth to fix it. Now our old laptop is only working sometimes. I just can't afford to get it fixed this month. So if you don't see me, I'll be back when I can.

Today's tip is that wls is not a miracle cure all. It does many wonderful things and gives many of us back our lives but it doesn't cure everything. If you have a chronic illness before surgery such as arthritis, lupus, ms, fibromyalgia, seizures etc. you will have those after surgery but sometimes it's easier to deal with since you are lighter on your feet.

Yes wls does help with diabetes, high blood pressure and other illnesses like that and has been known to cure those but that is a case by case basis.

Prepare yourself for your new tool and that is exactly what it is a tool. You have to work at wls, at first the weight may be melting off with little or no effort but your mind is in turmoil, it's not easy, it is work. Think of a rake, a tool, it just sits there and does nothing unless you choose to work with it. That's how we must view our wls, we must work with our tool in order to have the best possible outcome for the long term. So work your tool and realize it doesn't cure everything but it sure does help.

We newbies will continue to "work our tools" in your brief (I hope) absence.
