How should I take the comment....

"you look good, you don't look like you had that surgery."

In the beginning of this process I was so afraid to have the Starr Jones or Al Roker look as a post op and one of the main comments I heard from family was "don't get bobblehead skinny". Well I'm pretty much at goal pound wise and since I'm not ashamed of my decisin. Whenever anyone ask me how I lost the weight I tell them WLS and the comment I always get is "you look good, you don't look like you had that surgery you look like you've always been thin" I'm guessing its meant as a compliment but what does someone that had "that surgery" look like? just wondering

girl take that as a compliment and keep on moving...as you said you were once worried about that star jones look...unfortuantely some people who have had WLS look like they have had WLS..and there are those others who are blessed to take to their new look naturally...

Yeah I normally just look strangely and then say thanks and move on but it happeend again this weekend and I guess its all about changing the face of WLS that we don't all look like bobblehead aliens lol

I  still do not  "get it " with  the comments  "that surgery" !

That is why I did not tell to many folks when I had it done.

I say take it as a compliment.

There ARE plenty of ppl who do WLS and DO have that bobble-headed and / or sickly look for whatever reason.  I get it sometimes.   Some ppl say, "Wow. You don't look like you were EVER obese..." 

I say "thank u" and keep it moving. :)

I take it as you look healthy.  Some people look sickly after they lost all their weight.  Sunken in eyes, cheeks, etc.  Some folks don't take vitamins after surgery and it shows.  When i went to see my cousin in the hospital she looked like the poster child for not having WLS.  She was very ill, never had WLS education, no support groups and never took a vitamin in her life. She looked really thin, frail and sickly.
She has sinced gain a few pounds back and getting her health back.

I think it means you DON'T look like a bobblehead.....People had told me the same thing don't get "too" skinny. but we think you look great....

WOW I get that one too! Don't lose no more weight...I'm like if I would have listend to yall I would never have lost these last 60 lbs lol (that's when I first began hearing it)
