OT: A Vacation you wouldn't ordinarily take......

I didnt say I vacationed there, I was there for work - in a little bitty town called Yankton.

I was there for a week, and the only other people of color I saw were two brothers who went to school there on a foot ball and basket ball scholarship.

It was January 99, and frozen solid - I didnt do much site seeing, but I did get to go snow sleding while I was there with some of the people from the office.  They was trying to show a Texas boy how to have a good time in the snow before I left. ( I will admit, that was fun - and the snow was like powder, not good for snow balls but purfect for sleding)

Well next year I get 3 weeks of vacation up from my current 2 so I am hoping hubby and I can take a trip such as this. I have been to most states in the US at least once (well the staes I am likely to visit) so you've made me think I'ma have to get the map out and get back at cha!

I had been seriously looking at Hawaii, but I am a broke chicken right now.  Just can't do it.

You KNOW I take (2) real vacations a year at the least.  This year we are going to Puerto Rico , I would LOVE to go to Hawaii I just have mentally prepare myself to be on a plane for 8 hours.

You want some good Mufongo in Puerto Rico go to Mi Casita in Isle Verde.

Metropol has the best freaking chicken in all of Puerto Rico,  oh my goodness it's good.   It's right next door to a chicken fighting place.  LOL.

Make sure you eat some sugar coconut candy.  Yummy !!!

MM the Grand Canyon is beautiful.  I'm planning on going again.

After I saw the movie "Why did I get Married"  I wanted to go where ever they went when the couples stayed at the ski lodge.  I don't know if they were in CO, but the view was beautiful.  I would like to go somewhere like that and stay for about 5 days.  I don't like being cold, so it would really be something different for me.
