I notice everyone post about having shakes.  I stopped drinking protein when I was able to get it in thru eating.  Am I completely off on this?

Hey, Lee.

Since I changed up my eating plan, it is impossible for me to get in enough protein through food.  Especially on the days when I eat only fruit and vegetables....protein shakes are a must!

Do what works for you, but did you know that the best times to ingest protein are first thing in the morning, after you workout, and before bed?  Also, I subscribe to the bodyforlife philosophy of exercise which states that you SHOULD NOT eat after working out, but in order to rebuild muscle, a protein shake is ideal.

All the best.

Yeah I do know about the eating of protein after working out,  I usually do that but it is not a drink.

How often do you do only fruits and veg, and why?

Lee, hit me up and let me know some of your meal plan for protein. I was advised by my doc that I will probably do the shakes sometimes. I am a lapbander, so after a fill, that is a must too.

I get in around 100 proteins, sometimes more other times a bit less

Hi Lee:
I'm a bander.  I mostly get my protein through food.  I haven't made a shake since I moved to full foods.  Sometimes I use Protein on the Go that goes in water.  I carry it for emergencies.

What is protein on the go?  Can you taste it in water?  Does it make the water thick?

I just looked it up, very convenient.  I worry abut taste and thickness.

It's flavored ---comes in different fruit flavors.  I've used it for a while.  Recently they began marketing it with "The Biggest Loser."  It tastes good and the water is not thick.

I just ordered a sample from their site.  Where do you buy it?

I buy it at the grocery store and at CVS.  I keep a pack in my purse and in my desk drawer at work.
