A Cautionary Tale
However, the hopefulness in me says, well maybe its just a bump. Oh well, she'll find out one way or another in time.

You get to a point where you beleive everything is finally the way you want it, or at least well on its way. You're climbing a ladder and suddenly have it kicked from under you, I guess its kinda of difficult to stomach.
I guess she'll be okay. Only time will tell.

Its hard and stressful when a relationship ends. When you are the one being dumped you often think that no one can replace the person you were with. I felt that way when my last serious relationship ended. But now even though I have some fond memories of him. My heart is open for love with the next good black man that may come my way. After the initial hurt is over I have a feeling that your friend will feel the same way. The trick is to not wallow in the woulda coulda shoulda of the past.
Maybe its just me
The last long term relationship I was in right after my surgery, I ended up dismissing the woman I was with and TELLING her why.
Why have her keep wasting her time and BUGGING me with phone calls??
To me, that's the adult thing to do. To just abruptly stop calling and have the person wondering what happened is childish b/s.
She probably WILL let it go in time, but what is so wrong with just telling the person, "Here is the reason why this ain't working"?
I personally think she just wanted a male point of view.

For me, "letting a person down easy" won't always maintain a friendship. not if letting them down means prolonging stuff.
Oh, I guess my friend is finally getting it..she's calmed down. lol
