Who is the guy/woman that was in your past that you would like to re-connect with?

Hmmm..that would have to be Bam from East St. Louis. I met him in 1990 while attending Illinois State. Pity, I can't remember his real name.

What made him/her so special that they STILL cross your mind sometimes?

Oh, he was absolutely beautiful and so sweet. Nice pink lips, brown eyes...he reminds me of the rapper T.I.

What happened that split you two up?

He went back to the Boogie at the end of the semester and never returned. Someone told me he started to work at Schnucks grocery.

and....
Do you do anything special to celebrate V-day?

Corny is taking me to the place where we had our first date. That was the only thing that he told me...everything else is a surprise.

Happy V-Day!

Hi Juanita,

What's the Boogie?

Girl, if you don't stop calling that man out of his name... I told you one day you may slip up and call him that for real...LMAO

I'm sure he has a very special day lined up for you.  Be sure to fill us in Monday!  Enjoy Lady.

The Boogie AKA East St. Louis.

Corny knows about my pet name...I think.

Okay, I'll stop calling him that. From now on, I will refer to him as "Da Man".

Kim, glad to hear that your getting better !

The guy that I would love to reconnect with just to laugh and talk about old times is Fitz short for Fitzgerald.   ( Edited to take his full name off the post, dont want to get noboby in trouble )

What made him so special was that he was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was the first guy to truly look me in my eyes when we talked.  Most of them just noticed my  breasts.  He would hold my hand while we walked down the street,  he opened  doors for me and always walked on the outside. He took me out on my first real date and sprung for everything.  He insisted on walking me to my house door to make sure I got home safe....he would carry my books when we left school. We met at night school here in NY. Both of us were taking night courses to graduate on time. He adored me and treated me like he did.  He wasnt all about getting the goodies...he always asked me how I felt about things and seemed to truly listen.  He wanted to be my friend before anything sexual. He was what I would call an old soul.  He just knew how to treat a lady.

What made us split up was that all of his niceness made me nervous.  At 17 all that mushy stuff scared the mess outta me.  Silly me.   My mother warned me that  he was  a special breed.  But I didnt listen.    When I tried to hook up with him years later.....he had a child with someone else and wasnt available. I surely lost a good one.

I dont do anything in particular to celebrate V-day.  This year Im going to an oldies concert near Philly....but  long as I get to spend it with my sweetie and can treat my daughter to some candy and a card that makes me feel good.

Hey Plum!

Boy, his name alone makes him even sound gentlemanly  (yeah I made that word up)

I have to agree, at 17, I would have thought the same thing...especially since guys mature so much slower than we do ***ducking the popcorn from the peanut gallery (Doug and Dalexis)

Enjoy the concert Lady!

Yeah his name was unique and so was he.

Speaking of which...I need to take that man's full name off the net.

Thats so not cool and I wasnt thinking when I put it out there like that.

Cause I was caught up in the feelings of writing the post.

But he was the " bomb boyfriend " for 17.

What happened that split you two up?
3,000 miles he lives in VA but, 1/2 his family is here....crazy thing is his sister is one of my closest friends but, we have vowed not to bring him into our friendship and it has worked for the most part of 20 plus years.
