Hello All,

I recently received approval to have surgery. Right now I am going through my educational classes and will complete all of them by the end of March.

After doing a lot of research, I am curious about how much loose skin any of you have experienced since losing weight.  The majority of my weight is in my stomach and I realize that I will have to have a tummy tuck afterwards, but I am wondering about how your butt, thighs, arms and back looked after weight loss.
Did you exercise a lot to help build muscle while losing weight or did you just walk to help with the weight loss? Has anyone had plastic surgery to correct any of the problems?

Any information would be helpful.

Girl you are crazy. Thank you for your well wishes.

After attending the Occupational Therapy class yesterday, the physical therapists suggested that exercise would help because it would build muscle and help the connective tissue to tighten up. There would still be some loose skin but exercise would help. Just trying to find out what other people have experienced.

Congrats on your approval for surgery
I started pumping weights as soon as I was approved for surgery to try and firm everything up. I still do free weights today.
My problem areas are the bat wings under the arms(weight lifting has helped out for the most part with that). I could use a butt lift.
I have had a panni which is like a mini TT.  I am planning on having a breast lift or argu which ever is best for the situation. I would like to TT because I am not satisfied with the panni but still deciding on that surgery.

Hello there.  RNY Gastric bypass  age 33  .Well I have to say that I dont have any loose skin, except on my stomache. but its not drastic. I used to way 240bl . now Iam down to 170.
It has been 2 yrs. And I have to say everyone body is different.
I ate very healthy , aswell as drinking my protein shake. working out 5 days a week , arobics, walking, swimming, cycleing. Prayer aswell.
The only thing I need is a tummy tuck.  It has been a tuff journey for me, some times discouraging because I only lost 70 lb. in 2 yrs. which is very slow. But Iam happy the way I look now appose to the way I used to look. just wish I could speed up a little faster and loose 20 more .
God Bless you

I'm not bragging but I have no loose skin.  I am so lucky too because so many people have it.  I think the fact that I am a exercise fanatic helped but not much cause there are many people who workout a lot and they still have it.    I think it depends on your own skin and how much elasticity you have left in it.

I think genetics plays a role also, and I come from a good gene pool very little loose skin, flat stomach after 3 kids no TT, and will put on a bikini  in a second.
