New Post-op Tip of The Day

Today's tip is about shopping. We are losing weight and changing sizes quickly but do not go out and buy a new wardrobe in the next size down. Goodwill, thrift stores, consignment shops and clearance racks will be your best friends.

Yesterday we talked about not seeing the difference in our weightloss but our clothes will tell us. I've been in the grocery store and my jeans started falling down and I had to hold them up. My hubby, and 2 teens will tell me that my clothes are a baggy mess but sometimes I don't believe them until they are falling off.

So as we change sizes, we should not invest a lot of money in clothes. Remember that you will be needing to change the sizes of your underwear also. Many people even go down in sizes of shoes, but not everyone. I've gone from a size 12w to 11m in shoes and yes that's still big but when you're 6'3 1/2 they look normal.  Some support groups have clothing exchanges and that's another resource for you as well.

Enjoy shopping for smaller sizes but don't go all out and never pay full price.

I was just in LB yesterday and the day before.  I so desperately wanted to buy the red blazer for Valentines day but I couldn't shell out $79.00 (plus coupon) on something that I won't be able to wear in a couple of months.  But I want it sooo bad .  Oh well.

I haven't shopped for clothes in months, tell me why everything in there I want. *sigh*

Don't do it, it's like throwing money in the trash because even if you can sell your clothes you won't get full price for it.  Find something else pretty and red on clearance or at a consignment shop.

I really needed this today. My underwear are now slowly creeping up to my chest and they are baggy too.  I'm just having such a hard time throwing out my old clothes that I used to love so much.  Today I thought I looked o****il I looked at a glass window and noticed my once tight skinny jeans are baggy.  WLS is a head trip.
