Working on me - want to be better in everyway not just physically!!! Its a process no time to judge or be judged!!!!
Brenda it is okay. I am not that sensitive and you didn't offend me at all. Now if you have an education and you know you should be making more than 30K then by all means, don't take 30K. Because I feel like $10.00 is peanuts for customer service! I have some college and I live in a city that doesn't have any jobs but supermarket or customer service and you got to know somebody that know somebody to get in a state or county or city job. All the plant jobs are temp or laying off; so I am very very very grateful; that I have a job.

I can honestly say I would be comfortable making 70,000+ annually. My husband works as while so what ever he brings home would be extra. I am not greedy and I believe debt is the devil. The more money the more problems is so true. When I get a financial increase I seem to get a issue increase to go along with it. I am learning to be a good money manager so I know how to work with what I have.
The more you make the more you spend....bigger house, higher end car....It would also depend on the company you keep. If you make $30K but most of your associates make $70K you will tend to live above your means.....If you make $70K but your associates make $30K you will live below your means.
We tend to live up to the expectations of our associates. If people "truly" did not care what others thought 90% of the populaton would not have the kind of debt that they have.
$300K would be comfortable for me until I get there then I will need more.
A good book to read is " The over spent american"

I agree! I told my husband I REFUSE to finance another car just so a stranger I pass by can want the car. Hell I'm paying to be THEIR advertiser.
I've always lived to my parents standards with extra money by them to afford the lifestyle their baby girl should be living. If when I first got on my wn they would have allowed me to live wihin my means and not theirs I would probably be in a better place financially.
Howwever, I do disagree with you about the money the less you make the more you spend to pretend you got what "they" should have. Most people I know who make over 100k watch their money more carefully they spend the 30k salry and put he ther 70k in savings while the 30k person spends all their money buying the same thing but saving nothing.

clarification: I am not saying that a $70k person hanging with $30k associates would "intentionally" spend less to "pretend"....But being that their associates make less they probably engage in activities that cause them to spend less than they would if they hung out with people in their salary range. It has been studied and shown that our environment plays a great part in the way we spend/save our money. If you hang with spenders, you are more likely to spend, but if you hang with savers you ae more likely to save. This does not apply to 100% of the population but to the vast majority.
