New Post-op Tip of The Day
Let's talk about dry skin and hair today. Due to the fact that we don't eat a lot of fats and we malabsorb, our skin and hair tend to get very dry.
I always opt for natural things when possible, such as olive oil, safflower oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, glycerin and cocoa butter. I also like some of Carol's Daughter's products and nothing works like good old vaseline on your skin at night.
My NUT suggests that I eat at least 3 servings of fish a week and if I can't get that in, then I should suppliment with Omega 3 Fish Oil. This suppliment helps with your heart health but it also helps with the dryness of skin. You can get this suppliment in a gel capsule, a packet that has a pudding consistency or chewables at GNC or Bariatric Advantage.
Water is also a natural moisturizer so make sure that you're getting in at least 64 ozs of water but 80 ozs is better. If you drink caffeine, those beverages don't count toward your liquids for the day.
Happy Moisturizing !!!!
