From what I've read anyone with a malab. surgery should be careful with BC pills. It is def not a choice for DSers and most GYNs frown on it for RNYers. If you go with the pills I would def be using a 2nd method or just to be on the safe side choose one of the other BC options not affected by the surgery.

i also use the IUD, but i have the ParaGuard which has no hormones, because the hormones give me headaches...i have had it since 2004..i removed it in 2006 to have my son, and got it popped right back in afterwards...its good for up to 10 years and the doc can remove it easily should you want children.  i love it, i never have to think about it, and i have zero side effects....i dont even know its there!

After surgery, my doctor put me on Loestrin Fe....I loved it!  My periods were lighter and no cramping and no babies!

I am on the pill and have been for about 7 months now, however, I am on the Micronor pill (Jolivette is the generic) and it is progestin only because I had a blood clot several years ago due to a knee injury.   so far so good on that.

I had Mirena but my old doctor did not put it in correctly so it gave me problems and had to come out.  I am scared to have it put back in.
