You are absolutely right I don't know you and I will edit my post to reflect that.   I do however know the patterns that us fat folks have, and those are patterns you have to let go of especially this newly out.   What you mentioned sounded a bit more than messing up and tasting something.  It sounded like your plans for now and later.   You said this is what you hoped for out of your surgery and it is what you got.     So I guess you should be happy about that,  next time your at a buffet eat a egg roll for me.

I say eat all you can, nothing like the feel of a tight pair of jeans, and the indention it leaves on your belly when you take them off.   Hell I eat junk all the time and look how great I am doing

Why I gotta go to the corner       I do,  I really do like the way my tight ass jeans feel when I unbutton them and the indention is all itchy  like I got fleas or something.     OK,  i'm off to the corner

You said, "This is exactly what I wanted from my surgery though, to still be able to enjoy foods I love in moderation and that is exactly what I got" I say: It looks like you got just what you wanted out of this surgery.

I said that meaning that I do not want to fear food for the rest of my life. Or have food make me sick if I wanted to eat it once in a while.

My repsponse to your post is this:

Keep doing what you are doing right now and you will definitely regret it down the road.  Trust me!  I'm 7 1/2 years out and there are soooo many bad eating habits that I wish I could go back and change now.  Baby, you better work your tool to the fullest while it's still at 100%.  This "honeymoon" phase will be over before you know it then you'll be struggling like I am now.

Back away from the buffets!

Let me say this I am not trying to come off as if I have an attitude or as if I do not want help. Like I said that is why I am here. But I do not apprecieate people coming at me like I am an idiot or "need a psych eval." If people came at you like that I am pretty sure you would have the same response. For those of you who did not come off as rude, and understand that I am a human being. Thanks so much for the advice.

BabyAli,

The other responses weren't rude...they just kept it real. It ain't always unicorns and rainbows on BAF.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.  You know why you had surgery - you wanted to enjoy a healthier and slimmer you. So you got your body modified. Now it's time to get your brain modified as well. Seriously, stop the sampling and the back away from buffets and sweets. One drink, one drag, one hot shot, one cookie - doesn't take much for an addict to go back to their old ways.

I make my diet decisions based on:

1. Diet from my NUT/surgeon
2. Whether or not I can tell my support group what I ate and not feel ashamed.

Like I said, I'm not perfect - hell, I ate a corner of a piece of bread last weekend and I still feel like a hot mess.  Very, very, very stupid on my part. I have to shut this schitt down now and you need to do the same.

It's all love...really

All RNYers do not dump, so maybe you don't....maybe you'll dump off of something else. Who knows. I had surgery in November and let me tell you I have eaten some things that I prob could have made better choices with, but I don't let that effect the rest of my day or weekend for that matter. Every single thing I put in my mouth I track on dailyplate.com. This keeps me accountable and I can see what areas I need to work in. I make sure I have eaten enough protien for the day and after my tracking I know if I have met that goal. Try doing that. Right now in your stage of the game you could almost eat anything and still lose a lil weight, you have the restriction and the malab. to help you. But wait until the honeymoon period is over, and your pouch has stretched out some, and your malab. is next to nothing.....cheating then will blow you back up and you'lll be sick with yourself. So change your eating up now and make a habit of healthy choices.

I would just like to say that with only being about a month and a half out your pouch is still healing and you should treat it like a newborn's tummy. You may feel fine and not have any negative affects but they may show up down the road. Right now you are experiencing head hunger and actually mourning food, I know I did and I still do. Just slow down a bit and eventually you'll be able to add some of your favorites again but not right now. Follow your surgeons and NUT's plan for you right now and baby your pouch.

Also, you may have taken some of the responses as rude but they were really just being real because they are veterans and they teach us newbies a lot. Yes we are human and make mistakes, but remember that we can correct it with the next meal. Keep posting and you will continue to get real responses because that's how we do on BAF. Take care.
