Cassie,
I got "talked" into watching that movie. It was a hell of a lot better than I thought it would have been. It was sad in parts, too.
"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer." Plutach. Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.

"Taken" was cool (ya gotta love bootlegs-lol). It was a bit like the "Die Hard" movies
I enjoyed "Traitor", with Don Cheadle. A bit slow in spots early, but it picks up and has, what I thought was a pretty good ending.
In terms of oldies, I have a classic from 1943, "Cabin in the Sky", one of the first Hollywood-produced movies with an all-Black cast. It's a musical comedy starring (for you more mature viewers who may know who these ppl are-lol) Ethel Waters, Lena Horne, and Eddie "Rochester" Anderson. It may has some borderline questionable racial sterotypes (Hell, this WAS 1943), but on the whole I enjoyed it. I have let my daughter see it for a change of pace. She actually liked it.
Finally, for those who may have a taste for foreign films, I have two: "City of God" (2004) and "Orfeu" (1999). Both films (subtitlted) take place in Brazil.
"City of God" tell the story of a young man growing up in a Brazillian slum trying to avoid getting caught up in the drug game. A well told story, it reminds me in many ways of "GoodFellas". This, like "GoodFellas", is also based on a true story.
"Orfeu" is the retelling of the story "Black Orpheus", a story of ill-fated meeting/ relationship between a charismatic, popular song-writer and a young woman new to that particular neighborhood. Very colorful, it give one what I would think is an idea of what its like to be in Brazil during their annual carnival.
I hope people find these films as enjoyable as I do. Yeah, they may be corny, but I like 'em. lol
You didn't like any of the new Batman movies?
Which Hulk? Not the first (boring) one? lol
