Exercise question

Okay to prevent muscle gain, I need to do the elliptical, treadmill, and bike on a separate day from the weight lifting machines to tone arms, calves, and stomache?  Is this what they mean from doing Cardio on a different day from weights?
Tis better to be dis-liked than to be loved by them cuz your always on their mind.

But, don't sleep on weight training you will burn so many more calories and get a toned look if you lift light like say 10 lbs and do  higher reps like 15 to 10.  The do about 30 min cardio.  So do the weights first.  But you are correct if you by no means want to add any muscle then yes alternate days and always go light on the weights.

is that the formula? i usually do the cardio first and then the weight training, i guess its a comfort level thing for me... cardio warms me up so when i do weight training, it aint hurting as bed.... but it doesnt always work out that way for me LOL...

I am building muscle.  So anything I know is primarily about building muscle. 

However, you will burn more calories if you lift the weights first.  Your body will continue to burn extra calories for a few days because of the muscles rebuilding once you have worked them out.  If you do cardio first you will not have as much energy for your weight lifting.  Do not be afraid break out of your comfort zone and watch your body change!

What if I am lifting 30-50 lbs?

If to you that is light weight then by all means continue with that just do high reps.  But, if it is heavy then reduce the weight and increase the reps.  However, I can't stress enough how great muscle works for losing fat so, don;t shy away from adding a little muscle.

Why you wanna prevent muscle gain? Yo that's whats gonna burn the fat while you're sleepin! But from what I understand you can do cardio and weight training on the same day. The important thing is doing the weight training a day apart, or if you weight train everyday do different muscle groups every other day. Like, upper body M,W,F, and lower body T,Th,Sa.

The muscle gain messes with my mind when I step on the scale and then I get confused.

Girl, well then stop looking at the scale lol. There isn't any point in lifting weights if you don't wanna gain muscle. But the muscle will transform your body and give you a nice shape. Part of the problem with some people that have WLS is that they lose a lot of lean muscle in addition to the fat, which is not good.
