5 days post op and still haven't found a decent protein shake
Ok here's the thing diet I' 5 day out of surgery and on a thin liquid. Before the surgery nobody told me that I was suppose to be testing out protein shakes before I had my surgery and so the day of my surgery when my dr asked me what I'll be drinking I had no answer for him. I've never been a milkshake type person so just the thought of drinking protein shakes makes me sick. Anyway, I've tried some type of Atkins drink that has 15g protein, but it make my stomach hurt. My mom bought me some Muscle Milk (21g) but after my brother told me how nasty it was I refused to drink it. Now I'm drinking these shot things I got from walmart. They're 26g but it takes everything in me to make me swallow that crap. Last night I just went out and bought a quart of skin milk. Does ANYONE know of an even half decent protein shake?

Good luck!
So - you got a couple options - powder or RTD (ready to drink). I have found that people tend to lean toward one or the other - so your first mission will be to understand which side of the fence you fall or lean on. There are some good protein powders in WalMart - you can also take a look at GNC - Vitamin Shoppe has test packets of things - that's a great place to start so you don't spend major $$ trying to find what you like.
I personally am a RTD girl. I have used Labrada Lean Body RTDs and now drink Oh Yeah! (yes, that's the brand name) RTD shakes. In my experience - chocolate is the best flavor to start with on RTDs - if the chocolate is nasty - they can't get any other flavor right either! LOL
Also - places like Smoothie King make smoothies and shakes with protein - you might treat yourself to one of those every once in a while to break the boredom - be careful and make sure you read the sugar content on whichever one you pick - they have some specific bodybuilder ones that are low sugar, high protein.
Good luck to you!!!
