For those of you who are tax experts, i am doing taxes using turbo tax and i have two w2's from two diff states.  The person lived in one state for about 6.5 mos and the other state for the rest of the time.  I have entered the income from both w2's , but turbo tax is taking the income from the non resident state and saying that the person has to pay state taxes.  my question is how do i show turbo tax NOT to use the non resident income???

Can anyone help?  it will be GREATLY appreciated.  If you don't want to talk here, hit me on the b/l.

Thanks,
Stacee

Hey Stacee,
I am not sure without more info but you may be using a BASIC version of TurboTax which may require you to upgrade to have the ability to seperate the incomes of the individual states.  Many of the free or lower priced tax softwares do this.
