I had my surgery Thursday.  I am in so much pain still.  The liquid pain med the dr. told me to take, over the counter tylenol, made me dump.  I try to take pills, they make me dump.  I haven't slept through a night yet.  I'm just miserable and in tears or on the verge of tears 24/7.   HELP!  Who might have some advice about this messed up time.  I'm terrified to take my meds because of the dumping from 1/2 a tylenol pill (tried that after the liquid almost killed me!).  I'm regretting this so much right now.  Please tell me I did do the right thing!  And does anyone know of a liquid pain med that doesn't have all that sugar in it like that effin tylenol?  I don't know why the hell they told me to take that fuggin shyt!  I am going to call the dr. this afternoon (they are closed for lunch for another hour) and insist they help me with this pain problem.  In the mean time... help me OH'ers!

Did your Dr office send you home with a prescription strength pain med? If not you may want to ask them. I was sent home with liquid oxycontin (sp?).

Hope you feel better and find relief very soon.

I pretty much agree with Mack this sounds like you may need advice from a Dr. mainly your surgeon since he/she performed the procedure. so i can only pretty much wish you well at this point. also talk to my "FATHER" he can fix anything "HE" performs miracles all the time. i heard "HE" made a blind man see. so talk to "DAD"

liquid oxi?!  my dr. didn't even offer that option.  liquid vicodin, which i'm allergic to vicodin, or liquid tylenol was all that they acted like they had the option of.  i suggested tylenol w/codine but they brushed that off!  they kinda pissed me off with this whole med thing.  you would think that they would know about liq. tylenol making some people dump and warn me.  anyway... i just got some tylenol and crused it and took it with this protein lemonade (which is AWESOME!) and was able to get it down, keep it down, and i'm feelin ok right now.  just very weepy.  i'm going to try to get through the night doing that crushing thing with the lemonade and i just have to learn to take my time when i'm medicating in the middle of the night.  my desire is to get up, take the med quickly, and go back to sleep as quickly as possible.  well... that's not possible!  coz then i end up being up in agony for 4 hours and wanting to die.
i did talk to my dr. office this afternoon finally and i'm going to get it all taken care of tomorrow at my post op appt when they take the staples out... i'll keep ya'll updated.  i know i'll probably be posting on here more instead of mostly lurking now that i've had the surgery!  and maybe i'll figure out how to downsize a pic of mine so i can put one up of me (all my pix are too large, file size that is)

if you are in that much pain, your doc should def prescribe you a narcotic of some sort.  i had the oxyco like many others...this was great because it will also make you sleepy and you can finally get some rest.  you DID the right thing...i think most people question that right after...i did.  i was sick for 7 days and a miserable mess until the doc finally prescribed me a lovely little enema....lol. but i was in so much discomfort, i didnt care if the medicine had to go in my ear!! hang in there sis....it DOES get better...if you know how to pray....get BUSY!!!
