I got my first period yesterday since surgery and I have never hurt so bad.  I was up all night and even thought about pulling out my leftover lortab but I didn't want to oversleep for work.  Did this happen to anyone else and if so what did you do to ease the cramps.  The way I was cramping, I thought I was going to give birth to a freaking alien

I experienced a little more cramping since surgery well at least it seems like it anyway.  My band is tighter during my TOM and I have to be extra careful what I eat or otherwise ....  I ward off the pain by starting to take Aleve the day prior or a couple of days prior to my period and this seems to help me.

I can't take ibuprofen but I think I may have tylenol but I can't find so I'll get some more.

Man, I could hurt someone today.  They scheduled me all these new patients and none of them showed up...yet my old patients are calling me and coming up here for me to fill out paperwork and crap.  I promise if my 330 is late by even 5 minutes, she's going to have to reschedule cause they ******g me off.

Look at it this way: having a period implies that you are fertile, s o if you want children in the future, it will be possible.  You are getting your body in the best shape ever to receive this divine miracle.  I welcomed every cramp because it meant that my body was finally becoming normal again.  Don't hesitate to seek analgesics for pain control.  Just know that your body is changing for the better.

I understand exactly what you mean!  Since wls I have had the worst cramps; and I never had cramps prior.  I would definitely take that pain pill, you will get some relief; and set your alarm so you don't oversleep.

My daughter was the same way after her WLS in December. She just started again on saturday and was in real pain. I bought some Pamprin and it really helped her. Don't know if you can swallow pills yet. The first month she took extra strength tylenol (liquid).
