OT: Has your spending changed recently?

I have enjoyed the extra money back in my pockets from the gas savings.  Here is my game plan:

I am already in the 401K and I have thought of increasing the percentage but I have decided since I have been taking a loss over the last year I will leave my percentage where it is right now and watch the market.

I am plan on paying off my truck a couple of months early with my refund.   My plan is to bank my truck note for a year and then start paying a note and half on my house to get it paid for in 6-7 years instead of the remaining 9.

I have done all the "bundling" that I can possibly do with cable, phone, internet etc.  I may look into canceling my long distance on my land line or even cancel the land line altogether.

I do treat myself to getting my hair done every two weeks since it is growing.

I only go to the movies if it is Tyler Perry, TD Jakes etc.  Even then sometimes I wait until it comes out on dvd.

I WON'T do the following:
-purchase another vehicle although I said I wanted a sports car for my 40th.  I will ride in my vehicles until the wheels fall off and even then I will be running down the road to try to catch them and put them back on.

I was just talking about this the other day.
Not spending as much...........My son bought me a coffee maker for Christmas. I was spending 1.72 a day for 6 days buying coffee from Burger King. That's 536/yr. I no longer go to Burger King I make my coffee at home.

I an no longer on any of the dating websites. I was on two at that was 29.99 a month*2. Now I'm saving 720/yr.

I do like to take the kids out for dinner (no fast food)once a week and then have a girls night out every other week. But to accomodate that I will skip the hair dresser once a week.

I locked in my energy rate at a lower rate .11 so that is going to save me because I was at .14

I try not to buy fast food because I have the lap band and can't really eat most fast food items.

I am planning two-three vacations this year. One for the kids spring break, one for my birthday and one either during the summer or at the end of the year.

Other than that no excessive spending. I need to save more because you never know what's going to happen on a rainy day.

Hell I'm broke so I "ain't" got nothing to spend.  I was going to go back to moonlighting to pick up some extra cash so I could afford a puppy but I'll wait until my salary goes up.  The doggone gas is on it's way back up so I don't go too many places.  I haven't gone shopping in a minute and with some of slacks/pants falling off, I'll just go to the thift store so I don't waste anymore.  I got soup and beans stocked up to last a few months.  I only spend money on protein shakes.  I'll just keep it that way for a minute while I'm paying off these medical bills.

oh and when it comes to movies, I go early on Saturday to see the 4.75 movies.  My apartment complex has netflix so I just  rent movies from them for free.  Another friend has bestbuy online or whatever it is and I just give him my requests and he hooks me up for free.

You KNOW me, I ONLY buy bootlegg, I WISH would pay to sit in a room full of strangers at a theatre chewing, talking in my ear.

Honestly, I make all my purchases with my American Express that card keep very DISCIPLINE because I know I have to pay back whatever I spend at the end of the month.

I also ONLY buy knock-off purses bought a few of those in NYC last year and a couple in Las Vegas in last Oct.

Clothes shopping has ALWATS been done on a clearance rack I really believe if I was to win a millon dollars today I will always be a clearnace rack "ho".

I budget everything and stick to it.  Credit cards are the devils so I stay away from them.  Lord willing by time I am 31 I will be debt free besides my mortgage.  I have a budget for gas, bills, groceries etc biweekly and I stick to it as much as possible.  I am not at the point where I can save alot yet but it is coming.  I can not see saving and when you have a lot of outstanding credit card debt.  So I am paying that off quickly and saving a little here and there when possible.
