Hey BAF Family!!!
Thanks for all of your prayers. I am home from Thursdays' surgery and all is well as can be expected.  I have a sore belly that is swollen and very bloated looking.  NOrmal? And I see some people that say they lost 10 lbs after surgery. I'm bloated and gained 4 lbs.
God Bless,
Love to you all and see you soon !!

Hey CC

Glad to see you are on the loser's bench!

I was very bloated when I got home. When the bloatness (is that a word?) went away, I noticed that the incisions were still swollen and my tummy looked really lumpy. Remember, you were filled up with gas so that's why you're feeling (and looking) that way. If you are still having issues, give Cahill a call and I'm sure he'll give you proper direction.

Did you have surgery at LCOM or STJ? I had my surgery at STJ and I found the experience wonderful. I also visited LCOM for a very slight complication and found the LCOM staff to be just as great. If you had your surgery at STJ make sure you come out and join us for the support meetings. BigRed goes and we keep it real up in there!

Hi Wonka!!!
Thanks for hitting me back so soon.  I heard about that gas, Thats kinda crazy, but it's necessary.  Yes, I will mention to doc if it doesn't look like it's going down next week. I have an appoinment with the nutritionist. on Tuesday.

I had my surgery at LCOM, I will come to both to keep it fun.  I also wondered if that was normat to have a 4 lb weght gain - which i think is from all the IV fluids for 4 straight days.

Welcome Home!  I gained 8 lbs the day of surgery and went home 2lbs more than pre-op, but that's just all of the fluid that they give you.  I wish you lots of success.

You had your surgery 2 days before me. So how are you feeling? I'll pray for you. Glad to know it's not just me.  When does that pain leave from your stomach. LOL

First, congrats on a successful surgery! Now, it is definitely normal to come out of the hospital heavier then you went in. I remember my doctor fussing at me telling me not to freak out over the scale because it would be heavier then when I came in. I think I gained like 15 or so pounds from the iv fluids but those pounds do come off very quickly. Best of luck to you on your journey.
