5 day pouch test
How soon is too soon to use this 5 day pouch test to jump start the weight loss again? I'm only 3 months out and not considering it now because my weight loss is steady but I've heard that this can help return the pouch to a smaller size and trigger the weight loss success most people had during their honeymoon phase. Is this true? And if so how soon is to soon to be doing this test?

Good luck to you. I was planning on waiting until I was atleast a year out. Just incase I start falling off the wagon. Right now I'm just going to continue to eat right and work out but I know there will be a plateau point...just want to make sure I have my backup plan.

I'm not planning on doing this test now. My mother is 10 years out and she just tried it and I was wondering when if ever do most people try it. I even want to understand exactly what it does....just asking questions. I'm sticking to my diet and work out...I'm being good I promise!

Hey :)
My mom had the surgery in 1999 and started regaining at about 7 years out. In her defense she had to have surgery for something unrelated and just fell victim to not being able to workout. She's an awesome mom she lost about 160lbs regained about 50lbs and then did the pouch test and lost 15lbs.

My *own* opinion is to leave the 5 day pouch test alone. It isn't good for long term, and any weight you lose will be put back on when you start eating food again. We all have to pick ourselves up from time to time...I know I do. I just up my water and protein and watch the bad stuff, carbs and sugar. It is harder the further out you get, but your RNY still works. Obviously at 3mos out this really shouldn't be a thought for you...you are still in that phase where the weight will fall off regardless of what you do. Enjoy it!
