New Post-op Tip of The Day

Dang y'all, those shots that the dr. gave me yesterday still has me loopy. My hubby has laughed at me for 2 days now for being high and goofy. My head is much better though.

Today's tip has to do with "Stinkin' Thinkin". It is very hard to be successful with a negative attitude and a failure complex and low self esteem. There is a scripture that I love and my kids know it by heart because I have raised them with this scripture. It is Prov. 23 : 7 " As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is".  This basically says that what you think about yourself will come to pass, like a self fulfilling prophecy.

I'm a prime example of this. As the youngest of 5 children my siblings would call me a hippo, elephant, Bertha big butt while we were growing up and I thought I was the fattest person on the planet. In high school I was 6'3 and 185 lbs and that's 5 lbs. over my goal weight now !!!!  I saw myself through other people's eyes and eventually I ate myself up to 355lbs. I constantly called myself an elephant, cow or hog. My children have heard me say this. I have caught myself saying these things even now at wearing a size 14.

Stinkin' thinkin' will only drag you down and turn into self fulfilling prophcies. Since the bible tells us "As a man thinks, so is he.."(paraphrased) then lets start saying, "Hi beautiful or handsome in the mirror" or let's tell ourselves that we are good enough to be healthy and that we matter. Do not allow someone else to pull you down so that they can pull themselves up.

As the youngest of 3 I was humpbubble. Of course Bertha Butt was the other name. That damned song did me in, I used to hate it.

In highschool I was well under 200 lbs and like you thought that I was fat because that is what everyone else would say. If I had only KNOWN that I was the stuff. I weighed 170 and was solid.

Thanks Neenaj for reminding us that sometimes our negative thoughts can cause us to fail.  I enjoy reading your Tip of the Day, keep up the good work.

Awesome and one of my favorite scrips in the Bible!!!! It's not you are what you eat; it's you are what you think!

God Bless you for a timely word of encouragement!
