It's official...I'm sweet
In the words of Jay Anthony Brown.....
"Why is it when you have a crackhead relative, you KNOW that he or she will steal anything not nailed down, YET everyone is still surprised when it happens."
Well the same holds true for diabetes. At least in my case. Lately I've been having pee-itis every doggoned night but I figured it was from water consumption. Last night I ate dinner and an hour later felt drunk. My mom who is a diabetic herself had me to check my glucose level on her monitor. It was 368.
She had me to take it again on two different fingers and the number remained, so off to the ER I trek. By time they got to me my number had dropped to 111 so they took blood to make sure I was fine and then sent me home with instructions to follow up with my Dr. on today.
My level was 112 when I arrived, but then they took an A1C something test which should not read above 6. I was at 8.5. She then reviewed my bloodwork and saw that the ER DR. missed that I had keytones so there I sat lookin silly.
I got a script for the pills and the monitoring equipment as well as literature and other stuff.
The bright side to all of this is that I called my surgeons office and will hear back from the coordinator on tomorrow morning. I told em forget waiting until March, I'm ready to get the show on the road!
I'll let ya know if my date is pushed up.
