I have RNY in October 2006.  Last year my doctor told me that I was severely malnurished.  They advised me to eat five small meals daily.  This worked to my advantage and disadvantage.  I am back to feeling and looking healthy again, but I have also gained about 20 - 30 lbs.  Now I have gotten into the habit of eating even when I am not hungry.  Are there any appetite suppresants that are safe for us to take?

I cant not answer your question in regards to appetite suppressant that are safe.  However I would like to address a couple of things if I may.

You mentioned that you were severely malnourished. Could this has been due to not taking your vitamins as you should?

when you are eating when you are not hungry, what are you eating?  Are you eating healthy snack or carb loaded snacks.

Not once did you mention that you are exercising so that could be part of the problem.

I would strongly suggest trying to go back to the basic of WLS prior to trying appetite suppressant which could get you back to where you were when you were servery malnourished.  I am sure without me saying it, appetite suppressant is like putting a bandage on a gaping wound, it really will not address the big problem, it will only make you feel better temporarily that you took some type of step.
