Another ***** Fest this Morning anybody else wants to join me?
Thanks TAW! I just found a tax assessor notice from last year and I was suppose to help the Tax authority with value of my home and forgot to fill out the paper work, so I guess some of this is coming back to bite me! They even got the home price wrong..they got $10,000 MORE than I acutally paid for my home...gee they got it all wrong and also the NEW homes have depreciated in value at about $50,000 since I purchased my home, so I got a lot of phone calls to make and getting a new appraisal in my property and hopefull it will take care of this....but in the meantime I got to pay A $2,400 per month MORTGAGE
Maybe its just me (I'm kinda slow sometimes), but if the speed limit is 65 mph, and the car is cruising at 78, isn't that still over the speed limit?
Is that $1000 each car, or $500 per car?
Just asking for clarification.

It really not about getting a pass on 5 mph. It is much more than that. So I can fully understand, fighting that she was going 78 instead of 90. The most common form of reckless driving in Virginia is speeding 20+ over the speed limit. As stated clearly in the Code of Virginia, the penalty parameters for reckless driving is up to one year in jail, and/or up to $2,500 in fines. Reckless driving also carries the possibility of a suspension of driving privileges for up to 6 months. In Virginia, reckless driving is Class One Misdemeanor Criminal Charge, punishable by up to 12 months in jail, up to a $2,500 fine, and a possible loss of your Virginia driving privilege for up to six months. In addition, you could be arrested and have your car impounded at the discretion of the police officer for committing this offense.
Well...I have NEVER SEEN a car on ANY highway that goes the speed limit, so I think going a little over the police is NOT suppose to stop you there is LEGAL grace within 10-12 miles over the speed limit. In fact, after I got my ticket, MOST drivers were driving at least 85 miles per hour, I am not sure why 65 is the speed limit when no one ever drive that slow, unless they are about to exit.
I got the ticket in Maryland NOT Virginia, and it was not reckless driving it was just a speeding ticket...
Regarding my car property tax no that is not $1000 for each car, my BMW is taxed a bit higher at $700 dollars per year and my toyota is about $300 dollars per year...either way it is robbery.
Sorry to read about your situation. Here's hoping you find something really soon. Its rough out there.

P.S. ...I just got my first speeding tix in December and I was doing 69mph in a 50mph.......although he dropped it down to 65mph my tix was $72 (). I ran to the courthouse to pay it gladly....cause I WAS guilty, lol. I do cruis control now too but it's actually on the correct speed limit....cops out here in the desert ain't got nothing else to do and they do bust you for going 5mph over the speed limit here.....*******s!
I hope your day gets better Naomi!
